Piece de Resistance: A Secret Hideout

I’ve never met a kid that didn’t love to play inside a tent or teepee or fort.  For some reason the smaller spaces let them really use their imaginations.

I love the a-frame tent in the Room of the Week.  The little neon ribbons that attach the fabric to the frame, and the window cut-outs using the same material are such a nice detail. And, it’s the perfect size for two little friends to read and imagine and hideout.

I’ve seen them popping up everywhere lately, and I think they are popular because they are so easy to personalize and move around.

Do your kids have a favorite hideout spot?  Even though I made my kids a teepee several years ago for our playroom, they are constantly making blanket forts or stowing away in their bedrooms underneath their beds or laundry baskets.  Obviously I need to figure out a way to give them a hideout spot in their bedrooms.
